ALCESTER Male Voice Choir received a standing ovation after a lunchtime concert held in St Georges Chapel, Windsor Castle.
The music, which was performed a cappella, included mainly sacred traditional male voice choir arrangements sung in English, Welsh, Zulu and Latin.
Judith Land BEM, FRSA, choir founder and director of music, said: “We were made very welcome and immediately felt at home.
“The choir appreciated that it was going to be a very special day for me and the choir itself, and they worked hard, looked especially smart in their uniforms and deserved all the accolades that were made. I felt very proud of them.”
The choir and their families attended a service held in St George’s Chapel led by Canon Martin Poll assisted by Canon Dr James Woodward where they sang a hymn with the chapel’s choir.
Following the recital the choir took to the street of Windsor were gave impromptu singing performances to tourists.
