A THREE-day summer edition of the Alcester Folk Festival is set to take place at the weekend.

The annual summertime music festival is being held at the Holly-Bush pub in Henley Street where there will be a marquee in the garden and a function room for concerts.

Entertainment will kick off from 7.30pm on Friday and on Saturday and Sunday activities will be held from about 9.30am.

Organiser Marje Stanley said: “We’ve got singers from all over the country, they’re all gearing up for it and ticket sales have gone very well as well, but we have still have got some available.”

Guests are invited to camp in the field in Old Stratford Road for £20 per unit for the weekend and this will be signposted.

Parking for the event is free and available on the main shopper’s car park near Waitrose and there is a walk-through to the Holly Bush.

Tickets cost £60 or £50 for concessions and are available by sending cheques to 89, Salford Close, Woodrow, Redditch B98 7UL.

Those who would like a booking confirmation should attach an email address.

Tickets can also be purchased on the day from the camp site or the pub.
