KEEN fundraisers from Alcester Football Club and McDonald’s Alcester have raised £300 by holding a charity football match.

Staff at the restaurant competed against the football club’s B team and secured a 6-1 win with donations going to the Ronald McDonald House Charity.

The match was organised by local McDonald’s franchisee Robert Holdcroft and was held at the Alcester Football Club and followed by raffle and BBQ.

Mr Holdcroft said: “The charity match is something that everyone in the local area has been looking forward to.

“It’s great to see so many people show their support and help to raise money for such a worthwhile charity.

“Additionally, the football skills on display during the match were very impressive and we at

McDonald’s will keep striving to improve the standard of grassroots football.”

Alcester Football Club is supported by the McDonald’s Twinning Scheme as such they receive from their local restaurant ensuring they can continue to grow and offer opportunities for aspiring players.

The event also saw the unveiling of the new club room for Alcester Football Club which has been refurbished through donations from Mr Holdcroft.

Ronald McDonald House Charities is an independent charity which provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation for families with children in hospital.

There are currently 14 Ronald McDonald Houses across the UK.
