ALCESTER and Stratford District Round Table are hosting their annual ‘Pub Paddle’ event in Bidford-on-Avon.

Members from as far as Tamworth, Coleshill, Birmingham, Solihull and Bromsgrove as well as Alcester, Stratford and Redditch, will race up the River Avon in Bell Boats on Wednesday, June 10.

The event will start at 7pm and can be viewed from The Frog in Bidford.

Organiser Nathan Rosewell said: "After the success of last year’s event, we’re back on the river and we’re once again looking forward to welcoming tablers from across the region to enjoy fellowship and friendly competition, followed by some much needed refreshments."

The winning table will receive a trophy and maximum points towards the area sports trophy, awarded for collective performance in events held throughout the year. This trophy is currently held by Alcester and Stratford District Round Table.

Alcester Round Table is part of the international Round Table organisation which offers young men the chance to make new friends, try new experiences, and give something back to their local communities.

Events usually take place on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.
