MORE than 30 stalls will line Alcester High Street for the town’s first artisan market.

Following the market’s rescheduling due to administrative reasons Alcester Community Trust has now teamed up with organisers Cotswold Markets Ltd to host the event on Sunday, April 19.

An official ribbon cutting ceremony will be carried out by Mayor of Alcester Yvonne Hine and the court leet’s High Bailiff Vaughan Blake.

During the event a range of entertainment including live music will be put on with cafes, pubs and restaurants on hand to provide refreshments.

The artisan market aims to sell a wide range of quirky, unique and unusual products including handmade crafts, vintage and antique items, fine foods and bespoke gifts.

Artisan means ‘skilled craftsman’ and the aim of the event is to fill the street with products that compliment rather than compete with existing traders in town.

Shop owners are being invited to open their doors during the event and those looking to take part can place posters in their shop windows and put the word out via social media.

Stallholders are being encouraged to take part in the market by contacting Cotswold Markets Ltd via trade.cotswoldmarkets@gmail.com or on 01386 840 138.

The market will be held between 10am and 4pm

The aim is to run a regular artisan market in the High Street on the third Sunday of each month and this has been planned in conjunction with Alcester Chamber of Trade and Commerce and Alcester Town Council.
