ALCESTER Male Voice Choir is set to host its latest concert at St Nicholas Church on Saturday, April 25.

The 80-strong choir will be performing a varied programme for their 41st annual concert including musical numbers from West Side Story, The Pirates of Penzance, The Pearl Fishers, Singing in the Rain.

The evening will feature a guest performance from Betsy Harmony, a self styled vintage singer with her songs and costumes from the 1940s and 1950s and Matt Harris aged 16, a student from Oxfordshire.

Talented young actor and singer, William Monks, will be dueting on stage with his grandfather, Ken Tyrer, the longest serving choir member.  

Additionally, Judith Land, founder and director of music at the choir, has formed The Minors of Alcester Male Voice Choir, a group of young men who will sing with their grandfathers on stage and a group of young ladies will be performing whilst the choir sings one of their numbers.
