A GROUP of Alcester's high school students avoided serious injury when the coach they were travelling in skidded from a country road and ended up in a ditch.
The police were called to the incident on the Ridgeway, near Stratford-upon-Avon at 8.25am on Wednesday, January 14.
A total of 46 children were onboard the vehicle, some of which attend St Benedict's Catholic High School.
One child, aged 12, was assessed for a minor injury to his right eye.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, the ambulance staff found a bus that had left the road to the nearside and was at an angle in the ditch.
“Thankfully there were no serious injuries. A total of 46 children were on board, but only one, a 12 year old boy was assessed for a minor right eye injury. He was discharged at the scene.”
A police spokesperson said the incident was believed to have been cause by black ice on the road.
