A YOUNG entrepreneur from Alcester has successfully launched a new iphone product on the funding platform website, Kickstarter.

James Day, aged 22, along with his two friends, managed to raise more than £10,000 in less than two weeks to fund a unique iphone case, with integrated earphone storage and a winder to stop tangling.

The project is the combined effort of James, Josh Shires, aged 24 and James Griffiths, aged 25.

James said: “I decided to take a risk and do my own thing. It is a huge risk. I always thought the product was good but I didn’t know if it was going to succeed. My family didn’t necessary think I had done the right thing.

“We are very excited it has done well, lots of Kickstarter products go no further than Kickstarter.

“We have had our first order from Saudi Arabia for a 200 unit trail order, we are in talks with people from Hong Kong and even countries we have never even heard of.”

The Mous Musicase has received praise from Russell Simmons, co-founder of the hip hop music label, Def Jam.

The business tycoon said the product was ‘super cool’ and that he would like one for his own phone.

Inspiration for the product came from Josh, who often found it frustrating when his headphones became tangled.

Using market research the team are now considering a range of new features for the Mous Musicase, including an unbreakable cover and a case with a charging feature.

The case is offered in a range of colours and both the frame and winder can be mixed and matched, allowing the owner to customise it to their own taste.

The starting price for a case is £17 and they available to fit the iPhone 5, 5s, 5c and iPhone 6.
