RESIDENTS have until Monday, November 3 to have their say on prospective changes to the council’s ward boundaries across Alcester and the surrounding areas.

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England has published draft recommendations and is now asking people to view the new division boundaries and say if they agree or disagree with the changes.

Those who disagree are asked to provide more suitable alternatives.

Part of the recommendations is for Warwickshire County Council to have 57 county councillors, five fewer than its current amount, representing 57 electoral divisions.

Max Caller, chair of the commission, said: “Our review aims to deliver electoral equality for voters in elections to Warwickshire County Council. This means that each county councillor represents a similar number of electors so that everyone’s vote in county council elections is worth roughly the same regardless of where you live. We also aim to ensure that the council’s divisions reflect, as far as possible, the interests and identities of local communities across the county.

“We will consider all the submissions we receive whoever they are from and whether your evidence applies to the whole of Warwickshire or just a part of the county.”
