THE West Midlands Stroke Association is appealing runners to take part in a charity event at the Ragley Estate.

The family orientated Resolution Run, is open to everyone, beginners and the experienced.

It will take place on Sunday, October 12 at 10am.

Organisers are asking supporters to put up posters and hand out flyers in local supermarkets, shops, community groups, churches, sports clubs and gyms or to use Twitter, Facebook or any other social media to promote the event.

They are also looking for volunteers to give up their time between 8am and 2pm on the day to help with registration, information or to carry out a marshalling role.

People of all ages can take part but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Participants can chose to compete in either 5 or 10km challenge and by taking part they will receive a free running vest or t-shirt, warm up by the Pure Gym team in Redditch, water stations, race clock, commentator, kilometre markers, goody bag with free gym passes, a poncho, cereal bars, a bottle of water and a medal.

They will also get free entrance to the park, adventure playground and formal gardens.

The café and house will open after 10am and refreshments and guided tours will be available.

Activities such as a bouncy castle, face painting, children's activities will be put on.

Prizes including, mp3 players, vouchers and meals, will be available for fastest in each distance, the fundraiser who has raised the most in sponsorship and for the veteran runner (aged 35 plus.)

Competitors can bring along friends and families on the day for £5 per person. They can also receive a supporter pack with t-shirts and cheering sticks to use at the event.

Free parking is available.

Entry is £15 or £20 on the day and there is no set sponsorship target. Registration will take place in the lakeside marquee.
