THIS Saturday sees the return of Coughton’s annual summer fete in the grounds of Coughton Court.

The fete is being organised as a collaboration between the National Trust property, and the local community to raise money for good causes.

With the gates opening at noon, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of traditional stalls, including a tombola, guessing games, and a traditional 1913 sports day, as well as everything from skittles and croquet, to giant Jenga.

Claire Blackburn, fete organiser, said: ‘it’s fantastic working closely with the Coughton community and fellow neighbours. In three years we’ve raised over £2,000 which has helped projects at Coughton Primary School, Sambourne cemetery and improvements to the ford area, to name a few. Everyone always has a great day out at the fete and we hope to see you again this year.”

Refreshments on offer will include afternoon teas, and traditional ice creams, as well as a barbecue on the lawn.

The fete will be taking place from 12-4pm on Saturday, July 12, when entrance to the fete and gardens is free, although normal admission charges apply for the house itself.
