CONSTRUCTION work has started on the new McDonald’s restaurant, which is being built at the Oversley Mill roundabout on Birmingham Road on the edge of Alcester, with the building planned to open in October of this year.
The drive thru restaurant will provide 75 jobs for the community, as well as free wi-fi, and outside seating area recycling furniture from one of the many McDonald’s restaurants that were opened temporarily on the Olympic park last summer.
Local McDonald’s franchisee, Robert Holdcroft, will be taking over the restaurant. He said: “Opening a new restaurant in Alcester, and bringing an additional 75 new full and part time jobs to the local area is a very proud moment for me. We hope to see existing fans of McDonald’s coming to enjoy what they know and love, as well as attracting new customers to our restaurant with the new look and feel in October 2013.”
Employees will have access to training and development programmes, as well as the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications ranging from adult certificates in maths and English to a foundation degree in managing business operations.
Recruitment is already underway for the new jobs at mcdonalds.co.uk/ukhome/People/Join-the-team.html.
