Man assaulted in Redditch

POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was assaulted in Redditch.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was walking along Hewell Road with a friend at about 12.15am on Saturday, October 20 when they were approached by three men.

One of the men briefly said something to the victim before punching him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

The three men then ran off in the direction of Batchley.

The victim sustained injuries to his jaw but did not require hospital treatment.

The offender is white, in his early 20s, average build, has blonde hair and was wearing a grey hooded top.

Investigating officer, PC Kate Smith said: "This appears to be an unprovoked attacked and we are eager to hear from anyone who saw it happen or thinks they may have seen this group of men in the area.

"Somebody may recognise the offender from the description or think they know who was responsible and we need them to tell us."
