CHURCH Hill Middle School is celebrating after becoming an Arts Award Centre.

Due to the popularity of the arts within the school, staff wanted to provide an extension of the curriculum which is nationally recognised as a qualification.

Headteacher Philip Hume said: “We have many vibrant extra curricular clubs, including a choir of over 70 pupils and an art club for pupils and parents.

“With such enthusiasim, it seemed sensible to put together a portfolio of achievements and be rewarded for it.”

Arts Award will provide the pupils with the opportunity to discover new interests and develop them to an even higher standard.
