BIKE fans came out in force to watch the final of the Midlands BMX Championships.

More than 1,000 people attended the recent event, held at Redditch BMX Track in Matchborough.

As well as seeing some of the best riders in the UK going head to head, there were novice races giving local talent their first time on the track and a special visit from paralympian Glenn Scott with the Olympic Torch he carried earlier this year.

If that wasn’t enough, there were also a number of stalls and attractions going on throughou the day to accompany the racing.

Steve Rooke, from the BMX track, said it was a great success and they were now in talks with British Cycling about hosting more events next year.
