A COMMUNITY group in Redditch has been given £500 from the county councillors’ divisional funds to help support its activities.

The Reddishare Group, which has been meeting in Church Hill for more than 20 years, received the funding Arrow Valley East county councillors Juliet Brunner and Gay Hopkins.

The group organises entertainment and trips out for people over the age of 55, as well as offering a home cooked meal for £2.50.

Treasurer Pat Barnes, said: "We are so pleased that Juliet and Gay were able to support our club. The money will help in so many ways and will give our members a chance to come out and socialise with others."

Coun Brunner added: "I'm delighted we are able to support the Reddishare Group continue meeting as it provides real benefits for our residents. It is great to see our divisional funds making such a difference."

“I'm so impressed how they have self funded for so long,” said Coun Hopkins, “and I wish we had found out about them sooner. Everyone is so happy at the club."

Anyone interested in joining Reddishare should call Joyce Harding on 01527 457138.
