Wilkinson invites community in for a cuppa to raise funds for Macmillan
6:10pm Thursday 11th October 2012 in News
STAFF from Wilkinson in Redditch’s Kingfisher Centre, invited customers to come along to the store to help celebrate Macmillan Cancer Support’s 22nd World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, and raised over £370.
Team members gathered together to enjoy a special coffee break and some cake to raise funds for people with cancer.
All the money raised will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support and will be donated as part of Wilkinsons’ commitment to support a national charity with services in the local community.
Albert Begyinah, Redditch store manager, said: “This is just one of many fundraising events we have held for Macmillan Cancer Support and have raised almost £1,800 so far.
“Not only was the coffee morning a fun way to raise money, it was also the perfect opportunity to say ‘hello’ and catch up with cusomers new and old.”
Catriona Munn, account manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “I’d like to thank everyone at Wilkinson in Redditch for their support. We hope everybody enjoyed the home baked goodies and helping to make this year’s event even sweeter.
“The Macmillan team can’t reach everybody affected by cancer without the help of our corporate partners and the public putting the kettle on to make a difference.”
