More time to comment on Webheath housing application as Taylor Wimpey amends plans

AMENDED proposals are being submitted to Redditch Council in relation to the outline planning application from Taylor Wimpey for 200 homes in Webheath.

The existing application is for the erection of up to 200 dwellings and a building for retail and/or community use in the Webheath Area of Development Restraint (ADR), including site access from Church Road and emergency access from Pumphouse Lane.

The amendments mean the application will not be considered at the council’s planning committee meeting tonight.

Instead, interested parties will have a further 21 day consultation period to view the amended proposals and submit any comments in relation to the changes only. The planning application will then go to a future council planning committee meeting.

Public speaking arrangements for the application have been agreed and will be as follows: registered Webheath Action Group representative (objecting) - 15 minutes, other registered objectors  – up to 15 minutes between them, registered supporters – up to 15 minutes between them, registered ward councillors – up to three minutes each, and 15 minutes from the applicant Taylor Wimpey or an agent representing the company.

The amended application will be available to view online at redditchbc.gov.uk/planning using the reference number 2012/207/OUT.

The council’s head of planning and regeneration, Ruth Bamford, said: “The amended proposals submitted by the applicant mean we have had to defer the decision on this application. This is to allow interested parties a further 21 days consultation period to view changes and submit any comments relating to these changes only.

“The amended application will be available on our website or alternatively reference copies will be available on request.”
