PUPILS at Redditch middle schools have been training with young stars from the Worcester Warriors rugby team.
Ipsley Middle School, in Winyates, is one of 60 schools across the county involved in a tag rugby programme run by the club's community development department Year 5 and Year 6 pupils are being coached by a team including Warriors Academy players Sam McDonald and Carl Robinson.
Six weeks of sessions led up to a regional qualifier for a grand final at the club's Sixways ground.
Ipsley PE teacher Steve Bevan said the scheme had made a big impact on his pupils.
"They're really excited about the Warriors coming in every week. It gives them an extra buzz," he added.
