DOREEN Springer opened the meeting by recording the sad and very sudden death of member Margaret Cull and asked for us to stand for a minute's silence in remembrance.
We had received a letter from Margaret's sister thanking us for our support and the happy times Margaret had enjoyed with us at meetings and social events.
The evening continued with various dates for our diaries including the group quiz in October and group meeting for November.
A list of players for the skittles team was arranged.
A few members went along to a specially arranged WI session at Curves a different style exercise club and finding it enjoyable have joined the club.
We had arranged to make this a craft night having come prepared with needles, thread and scissors we had to make a peg doll.
There was a good selection of materials with which to make our masterpieces!
It was good fun and allowed for plenty of chat and laughter. Despite our initial misgivings we finished with good results, much to the surprise of all.
The next meeting, which takes place tomorrow, will be the AGM.
