Man gets three years for Redditch burglary

A MAN who burgled a home in Redditch has been jailed for three years.

Arden Holness, 47, of Noel Road in Ladywood, Birmingham, appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday, September 12 for sentencing.

He had previously pleaded not guilty to burgling a home in Dewsbury Close, Redditch, on Friday, April 6 but was found guilty by a jury in July.

Mr Holness broke into the house and stole a quantity of cash and the keys to a BMW.

Investigating officer detective sergeant Dean Mowbray from Redditch CID said: "I hope this sentence given out by the court reflects how seriously burglary is viewed and we are committed to bringing offenders to justice.

"Burglary remains a top priority for West Mercia Police and those contemplating breaking into people's businesses and their homes should be warned that we will not hesitate to prosecute offenders."
