Youngsters in Batchley keeping active

YOUNGSTERS in Batchley have been keeping active over the summer – very active.

Led by Batchley Support Group’s Paul Woodcock, young people have been involved in everything from orienteering and tobogganing, to museum visits and music making.

Thanks to a grant from county councillor David Thain’s divisional fund, teams from Batchley competed for medal prizes over two weeks and the winning team - Batchley Dragons - were recently awarded with gold medals.

Team Batchley Brook were awarded silver medals and team Park Life obtained bronze.

Coun Thain said: “This is just one more string to Batchley Support Group’s bow.

“I admire the way they come up with successful innovative schemes and am very happy to support them.”

Due to the success of the scheme Paul Woodcock with his team of James Powell, Louise Smith and Vicky Parker hope to run a similar event next year.
