RESIDENTS are being invited to a farm shop opening - with a difference.

The Black Pig Farm Shop, on Alcester Road in Inkberrow, is a co-operative of local people producing food grown, produced and sourced locally.

It is the brainchild of Mark and Helen Bailey who breed and rear Berkshire pigs on their four acre holding, also the site of the farm shop.

Having struggled to find any suitable outlets for their pork products, they decided to build the farm shop and to give other local producers the chance to sell their goods.

As part of the opening, on September 29, there will be the couple’s own pork along with locally made cakes, jams, cheese, fruit and vegetables, poultry and seasonally available game.

Also on offer will also be craft stalls and Annie the vintage ice cream van.
