Enjoy a day out and help raise vital funds for charity

A CHARITY is asking people to enjoy a day out and help raise vital funds to provide care for rescued animals.

The Animal Healing trust and Horse Rescue, based in Wythall, keeps 23 horses that it has rescued from poor conditions or have been abandoned.

As part of a special day people will be able to meet the horses and explore the farm as well as buy a wide range of home-made cakes and refreshments.

There will also be a charity tombola.

Carrie Eddins, from the charity, which receives no external grants or funding, said: “The stars of the day are the horses.

“They are excited and keen to meet new people, so much so that people often find it hard to leave at the end of the day as they feel so loved and so good.”

She added: “All the money raised will go toward the upkeep of the horses which cost about £2,000 a month to feed and keep, without considering the additional costs involved for having their feet done, repairing fences or any necessary additional costs.”

The open day is Sunday, September 9 from noon - 4pm at Seals Green Farm on Icknield Street.
