MICKEY Mouse was just one special guest who attended the popular annual scarecrow day at Arrow Valley Countryside Centre in Redditch.

The event, held earlier this week at the Battens Drive centre, saw more than 1,000 people turn up and 100 scarecrows.

The winner of the most imaginative scarecrow on the day was Noddy, with Mickey Mouse coming in a close second and Farmer scarecrow third.

Also at the event there was the chance to meet ferrets and owls and have a go at a number of games and activities.

A spokesman from the countryside centre said: “The event went very well with the weather very nice for us.

“Everyone enjoyed the entertainment, from the samba band, Punch and Judy show, and our scarecrow dancers.”
