THOUSANDS of angry bikers are expected to take to the roads around Redditch this weekend in response to new anti-motorcycle legislation.

A nation-wide protest has been organised by Motorcycle Action Group, due to proposals, brought in Europe, which dictate what people can and can’t do to alter or customise their bikes.

It will see riders join the motorway network about 1pm on Sunday, June 24 and travel southbound along the M5 from Frankley, northbound along the M40 from Warwick Services and southbound from junction six of the M42.

The group, one of many taking part around the country, will then gather at Portway Rugby Club on the outskirts of Redditch.

A similar event last year saw a total of more than 40,000 bikers take part.
