REDDITCH’S Fever nightclub is to hold its first gay night next weekend as part of a series of events across Bromsgrove and Redditch to celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGB&T) History Month.

Doors will open at Fever, on Market Place, at 9.30pm on Sunday, February 19 and it is hoped that there will be lots of support for the special event which could help it to become a regular feature at Fever.

Ken Hazeldene JP, chair of the Redditch & Bromsgrove Hate Incident Partnership said: “This event at Fever marks a big step forward for night life in Redditch, and it provides an opportunity for residents to come together in a local celebration of LGB&T History Month.”

Becky Ross, general manager of MooMoo Clubrooms and Bar Fever said: “We’re really excited about launching the night and very grateful for all of the support we’ve received.

“I hope the turn out for the launch will show there is a genuine desire for such an event and we can continue to make this a monthly event.”

Redditch Council’s portfolio holder for community safety, Councillor Juliet Brunner, said: “We’re delighted to support this event as part of the celebrations for LGB&T History Month. There are more events going on in the area too, so please don’t hesitate to contact the council for more information.”
