THERE will be plenty of “cheers” after the date for the sixth annual Redditch Winter Ale Festival was announced.

The event, being organised by the Redditch and Bromsgrove branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) will take place on Friday and Saturday, February 3 and 4 and will again be held at Rocklands Social Club, in Birchfield Road, Headless Cross, following its successfull debut at the club last year.

This year’s festival will feature more than 30 ales from a number of breweries, both local and from further afield, along with a selection of ciders and perries.

The opening times for the festival are 5-11pm on the Friday, and 11am-11pm on the Saturday.

Entrance costs £4 which includes a commemorative festival glass and programme. There is a discount on the admission price for card-carrying members of CAMRA and the Rocklands Club.

As is usual with festivals organised by members of the Redditch and Bromsgrove branch of CAMRA, visitors will be able to buy their beer and/or cider in a third of a pint or half pint measures.

A spokesman for Redditch & Bromsgrove CAMRA said: “Why not come along and join in the fun and taste some beers and ciders that you wouldn’t normally get to try.”
