FORMER Green Party candidate, Kevin White, who recently received an award for his campaigning work, is hosting a talk and film screening about the forthcoming West Midlands Vegan Festival.
The festival, which is in its third year, will feature more than 80 stalls, with four cookery demonstrations, 12 talks and workshops, live music and children activities.
There will also be vegan bar, free food samples and free goodie bags for the first 200 visitors.
The talk, which is taking place on Wednesday, October 6, is aiming to show people previously unseen footage from the 2008 and 2009 festivals and detail some of the attractions for this year's festival.
Kevin received his Veggie Achiever award from the Vegetarian Society recently, for his organisation of the previous two festivals, and for his work with Redditch Vegetarians and Vegans.
He was presented with his award by celebrity veggie cookery author, Rose Elliot.
He said: "I was deeply honoured to receive the award and it was fantastic to meet and chat to Rose Elliot. It's good to know that all the hard work that goes into organising a massive vegan festival hasn't gone unnoticed. Even with four weeks to go before the event, there is a growing excitement in the vegetarian and vegan community, as more event details and attractions are revealed.
"The festival fever before a big vegan event is very special and anyone who attends my talk and film screening will experience this for themselves."
The talk and film screening will take place from 7.30pm at St George’s Community Hall, St George’s Road, Redditch. Admission is free, and anyone is welcome to attend.
