A MATCHBOROUGH woman has lost an amazing six stone, enabling her to take on some weighty challenges.

Sally Turner, 57, from Allensmore Close, dropped six dress sizes on the LighterLife programme, going from size 24 to size 14.

Having shed six stone, Sally celebrated by taking on various physical challenges for charity, including climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, trekking 100km across the Sahara and trekking the Annapuna Circuit in Nepal.

Sally said: “The problems with my weight started after I had my first child and then got steadily worse when I had my second as I put on even more weight which I found very hard to shift.

“I lacked confidence and felt totally miserable. I found out about LighterLife online one day and thought I owed it to myself to try it.

“The programme worked brilliantly for me, it helped me regain my life and self-respect. I am now so much more active which I love. I have completed lots of charity events, recently raising £1,000 by riding my bike for 375-miles from Vietnam to Cambodia.”

Sally has raised £10,000 through her various activities for Macmillan Cancer Support, a cause very close to her heart as the charity has been a great help to close family members.

She is currently considering her next adventure, possibly a survival activity in the Arctic.

Sally added: “I’m so happy that I’m now in a position to help such a wonderful charity and keep fit and healthy at the same time.”

Marion Wilson, LighterLife counsellor for Kidderminster, who supported Sally, said: “Sally has accomplished so much since her weight loss which is very rewarding for me as a counsellor. When she first came to me she had no confidence at all, but she soon motivated herself and is now a new woman.”
