Trinity revisits the fifties for school production

IT may be a little early for summer loving, but Grease is definitely the word at Trinity High this week as more than 70 students gear up to recreate that fifties feel with gangs of T-Birds and Pink Ladies coming out of the woodwork.

The production, which also involves several members of staff, has been in rehearsal since September, and has brought in creative invlovement from students with everything from dancing, singing and acting to the remodelling of a car for the immortal ‘Greased Lightning’ number.

Ed Keady, head of Drama and the director of the production said: “Following the success of The Wiz last year, we knew the students were keen to stage another big production, and they haven’t let us down. It is really rewarding to see their skills and confidence develop.”

The curtain goes up on Grease from Wednesday, February 10 to Friday, February 12, and there will also be performances of the show for a number of local middle schools on Wednesday, February 10 and Thursday, February 11.

Tickets can be purchased from Trinity High School on 01527 585859 and performances start at 7pm.
