AN author will be signing copies of her new book at Waterstones in Redditch on March 6.
Suzanne Wright will be signing copies of The Love Child’s Mother at the Kingfisher Centre store from 11am.
The author has lived in the West Midlands and taught English in secondary schools here for many years. This is her second book, the first being a collection of short stories titled Intarsia.
The new novel is set in the 90s and is about adoption. The main character is reunited with her daughter, adopted 30 years earlier, in the 60s. The story reverts to the events surrounding the birth and subsequent relinquishing of her baby, then pursues the after-effects of the reunion.
Suzanne said: “There are many people who experienced similar events in their lives, who have still not met their adopted babies, or birth parents, and for whom Mother's Day on March 14 will be significant.”
The Love Child’s Mother is a work of fiction, based on Suzanne’s own experiences as a birth mother in the 1960s.
The book is available from Amazon.co.uk and to order from Waterstones, W.H.Smith, and other book shops.
