THESE pictures taken by a Matchborough man are bound to ruffle a few feathers among fish lovers.

On Christmas Eve, a Barford Close resident, Mr Denham, saw a heron swoop down and take a large fish from his pond before flying on to a roof.

He and his wife then watched the heron for over half an hour as it struggled to swallow the fish whole.

The heron stayed on the roof for more than five hours before flying off - perhaps a little fuller than he had been.
