SHOPPERS in the Kingfisher Centre last weekend got an artistic treat as Redditch Art Circle held its autumn exhibition.
A total of 160 paintings were on show. The under 16 section was well subscribed with 11 paintings on show from eight artists, ages ranging from five-16.
Mayor of Redditch, Malcolm Hall, attended and chatted with the artists.
Redditch Art Circle secretary Christine Tansley presented Mr Hall with her kingfisher painting on behalf of the group.
A club spokesman said: “The response from the general public to cast a vote for their favourite painting was superb and we would all like to thank them for taking time out of their day.”
In the adult class, Pat Richards was first with Tiger, Barbara Winfield was second with I Love You and Judith Sullivan was third with My Boy.
In the junior section, Amy Russell was first with Sunset Over the Ruins, second was Rhian Landreth with Bratz Girl and third was Joanie Landreth with Baby Jesus.
A total of 728 votes were cast by members of the public.
