POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a cyclist was seriously injured when his bike was involved in a collision with two cars in Redditch.
It happened at 5.20pm on Tuesday, October 6 in Coldfield Drive, when a racing cycle ridden by a man in his 50s from the Headless Cross area was in a collision with a red Fiesta and a green Honda Civic.
The cyclist was thrown from his bike and was taken by ambulance to the Alexandra Hospital, with serious head injuries and a broken collarbone.
He was detained and is said to now be in a stable condition.
The drivers involved, a man and a woman who are also from Redditch, were not hurt in the incident.
Police sgt Adrian Maiden, who is investigating, said: “We need to establish exactly what happened here so we urgently need to speak to anyone who witnessed this collision or saw the bike or any of the vehicles involved beforehand.”
