AS part of its Black History Month celebration on Saturday, October 24, the Caribbean Roots Connection (CRC) group is asking people to write down how a black person has inspired them.
The can be dead or alive, local or international, either through music, sports, politics etc or anyone people view as their own personal role model.
A spokesman for CRC said: “This person should be someone that has made a difference to your life and helped or inspired you to achieve your dreams and aspirations.”
All entries must be entirely the work of the author. All entrants must agree to all publicity including photographs. Entries must include name, age, and be no more than one A4 piece of paper.
There will be a prize for the most inspirational story and all entries will be displayed on the day and the winners will have the opportunity to read their piece. Entries are to be typed and submitted by email only.
The deadline is Friday, October 16.
