Jamie Oliver eat your heart out

GREEN fingered pupils at Birchensale Middle School have been rewarded for their hard work and dedication.

The school’s gardening club has been presented with a certificate of recognition, which was handed to members by town mayor Malcolm Hall.

He was joined by Carl Walker, landscape and countryside manager, to see the hard work that had gone into developing and maintaining the school garden.

Hilary Dowding, headteacher, said: “It was brilliant to have the members of club rewarded for their hard work.

“Everyone involved in Birchensale is determined to continue the good work and make the school an even better place for young people to develop, mature and learn."

The garden now provides the school kitchen with produce for pupils to sample at lunchtime.
