Bag snatched

POLICE are appealing for information after a woman had her bag snatched from her in Redditch.

The incident happened Monday, July 6 in Winyates.

The woman, in her 70s, was walking along Lowlands Lane at around 10.50am when a male appeared at her side, grabbed her shopping bag and ran off along a nearby footpath.

The pale purple shopping bag contained a black handbag with a red purse and a black wallet inside it, with various bank cards and a small amount of cash.

Pc Daniel Bate said: “While the woman was not hurt in anyway, she was understandably shocked by the incident and it’s important that we identify the male responsible.

“He is described as white, in his late teens or early 20s, 5ft 9inches tall with a slim build and short dark brown hair. He was wearing a light coloured top with blue jeans.

“If you witnessed the theft, saw a male of this description in the area at around the time of the incident or feel you may know who he is from the description given, then please give us a call as soon as you can.

“Equally if anyone finds a black bag discarded in the area please alert us as this could be important evidence.”

Anyone with information can call Redditch police on 0300 333 3000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
