REDDITCH MP Jacqui Smith visited Europa Fork Truck Training in Winyates East and saw a training service that helped clients update their skills.

Ms Smith met with Clive Cheetham, who provides the training, trainees and staff from Pertemps who use the training service, which has proved very useful for individuals who have been out of work for some time with funding from the government's New Deal being used to help them upgrade their skills.

“It was good to see a scheme like the New Deal working on the ground,” said Ms Smith.

“I met with trainees who have benefitted from this invaluable service and Pertemps tell me that 90 per cent of their people who go through the training have found work.

“It is crucial that our skills are updated from time to time and schmes like the New Deal can really help."
