TALENTED teenagers are being invited to get involved with a number of outdoor performances of shakespeare's A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
A special project, called Dreaming of Shakespeare, is being organised by Studley High School trust and Studley based New Century Theatre Company and requires young people aged 14 - 19.
Roles are available for 18 actors, 10 musicians and two stage managers.
Jennifer Rigby, New Century Theatre Company, said: “We’re hoping that the performances will be something special.
“This is an amazing opportunity for anyone interested in performance, whether theatrical or musical, to work with some of the country’s finest professionals.
“There isn’t anything like this anywhere else in the country, it’s going to be quite magical.”
Everyone involved in the performances will get a chance to publicise the event and will also research props and costumes.
It is hoped that people will experience all of the aspects involved in mounting a professional production.
Elaine Young, headteacher at Studley, said: "This is a great opportunity for youngsters from the local area to work together on a performance project, not just those from the high school.
“Working with professionals will give them a real insight into possible careers or just to develop their skills.”
The final performances will take place in the Studley High School Amphitheatre in August.
