DESPITE the current economic climate and financial troubles a dance school in Redditch is going from strength to strength.

Razzle N Dazzle Academy of Dance, which has only been running for three months, has more than 50 pupils registered and has secured a sponsorship deal with local building firm TM Grey Builders.

Dance instructor Nichola Kelly said: “As people are aware sponsorship deals are hard to achieve, especially in the current economic climate, so we’re really pleased.

“This sponsorship has meant we are able to run lessons at a cheap price and it also means we can provide pupils with some kit and have been able to part fund other equipment.

“Again it’s something we’re pleased about due to the recession and the fact it eases some financial burden that can be put onto parents.”

Classes, which include ballet, tap and freestyle and all follow the IDTA syllabus, are held every Saturday morning at St Johns Hall in Greenlands.

From 9.30-11am is for children aged three to nine while 11-12.30pm is for children aged 10 to 14.

Nichola, who teaches at Kingsley College, added: “We wanted to start the Dance classes as a community club aimed for all, with the main aim to increase participation in dance and to give pupils in town something to do that interests them, as well as keeping the price as cheap as possible.”

The dance school is also hoping to run a summer school in August.
