THERE was a special addition to Tardebigge C of E First School waiting to welcome pupils back from their summer break.
Taking pride of place at the front of the school, which recently achieved the Basic Skills Quality Mark for literacy and numeracy, is a stained glass window.
The window, which celebrates the school’s link with St Bartholomew Church, was made by pupils who created their own design using coloured glass which they arranged on a miniature pane.
Steven Cartwright, a local stained glass window artist, then welded all 140 panes of glass together.
Funding was provided by the Friends of Tardebigge Parent Teacher organisation and the Redditch Round Table.
