THERE was a special treat for residents of The Lawns Residential Home in Alvechurch as a troop of female Morris Dancers came in to entertain them.

The dancers, who were members of the Glorishears of Brummagem Women’s Morris Dance Side, performed several traditional dances at the home as residents sat out in the sunshine to watch them.

Jenny Davies from the Lawns said: “They were very good. We even had some of the staff and the families join in.”

“We bring a lot of people in out of the community but we thought this was something different for the residents, and we gave them tea and cake.”

The dancers practise traditional dances from a few local villages including Bidford, Bampton, Stanton Harcourt and Adderbury.
