POLICE are attempting to piece together information to discover how a man ended up with a broken jaw following a night out in Redditch at the weekend.

The 20-year-old man had been out with friends in Redditch town centre on Friday, August 15 and was left alone near Ashes Nightclub in Ipsley Street and the Black Horse pub in Mount Pleasant while his friend called in at the nightclub, which was formerly CentrePoint, to use the toilets.

The man then headed towards the Black Horse pub where he recalls being approached by a group of three males who asked him for a cigarette.

The man has no further recollection of the evening but woke up in hospital in Worcester with a broken jaw.

DC Jenny Lewis from Redditch CID said: “We are trying to establish exactly how the man came to have these injuries and if there was anyone else involved.

“We are therefore appealing to anyone who was in the area between 11.45pm on Friday, August 15 and 1.40am on Saturday, August 16, when the ambulance was called, to get in touch.”

Anyone with information can contact DC Lewis at Redditch Police Station on 08457 444 888 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
