Urgent speed limits review needed

I WONDER if I am alone in thinking that the speed limits on Redditch roads should be urgently reviewed?
The through roads are essentially urban, with a significant frequency of very high speed interchanges used by drivers of varying abilities, local knowledge or indeed sanity when it comes to barrelling down slip roads and expecting to barge onto the main carriageway!
Add into the mix the fact that Redditch is a magnet for fast cars and motorcycles and it is no surprise to me that the accident rate is as high as it is, the rate of destruction of road signs and crash barriers is nothing short of amazing.
A reduction of the speed limit on major roads would only improve safety for those who use them and send a signal to those who abuse them that Redditch will no longer tolerate the insanities of the past.
A welcome side effect would be a general reduction in noise for residents. Redditch is, after all, a place to live not a test track for motor vehicles.
