WITNESSES are being sought after a householder was assaulted by a youth while answering her front door in the Winyates area.

The incident happened at about 10am on Friday, June 27 in a close just off Hopyard Lane.

The victim, who suffered scratches to her face and one arm, initially trapped the offender's arm in the door before he managed to free himself and run off.

The offender is described as an Asian male, about 5ft tall, in his mid to late teens, wearing a grey sweatshirt hooded top, with the hood twisted round covering half his face, and wearing bright white trainers.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the offender in the area before the incident or running away from the scene afterwards.
