THE other Wednesday I was driving up towards Walkwood from the direction of MacDonald's and the approach road to Tesco's.
Half-way up the hill a police car was parked on the chevrons, with its hazard lights on, facing traffic coming up the hill. I thought he had broken down, then I thought no.
It has always been an offence to park, drive, or use the chevrons for any other purpose.
So if, and only if my assumptions are correct, he was there for one, and only one purpose, to catch unsuspecting motorists speeding.
I think this might have been the case, and as the police are not above the law, by breaking the law, an old adage comes to mind Two wrongs do not make a right.
If I receive a ticket, or should any other driver, I would strongly recommend you write to the Chief Constable.
