STUDLEY staged a clear-the-air meeting ahead of their Midland League One trip to NKF Burbage this week.
The discussion worked a treat as Studley promptly pulled off a stunning 4-0 win.
Joe Adams netted twice with Jordan Jones and Dan Carter also on target.
But it was the inclusion of David Edwards in the heart of defence that made a real difference.
Manager John Edwards admitted: "We really needed that win - especially after what went on against Coventry Copsewood the previous week.
"What happened at Copsewood was unacceptable, both on and off the pitch.
"But I told my players that the discipline had to be better. We can't be in a position where we keep losing players all the time through indiscipline.
"Once we'd had that chat, I was always quietly confident we would do well at Burbage.
"It was a big result when you consider that Burbage haven't been beaten in the past 12months.
"But it was the first time that I was able to play Jordan Jones, Joe Adams and David Edwards together and it made a massive difference."
Studley host Paget Rangers on Saturday and then travel to Cadbury Athletic on Bank Holiday Monday.
