TALENTED Redditch teenager Lauren Powell has pocketed a prestigious print award following a high profile trip to the House of Lords.

The 18-year-old travelled to London last month where she was interviewed and allowed to present her print design coursework to a panel of judges from The Print Charity at its annual Print Futures Awards.

The awards offer grants to help apprentices and those studying an NVQ between the ages of 18 to 30 to help develop their careers in the print, packaging, publishing and graphic design industries.

Lauren is currently working towards her Level 2 NVQ Certificate through Redditch based Adare SEC.

Not only did Lauren land a Print Futures Award and national accolade, but she will also receive funds to pay for courses, software and equipment to help expand her experience in the print industry.

A delighted Lauren admitted: " I didn't even think I'd get past the application stage, so the award came as a big surprise.

"It's a huge boost for my confidence and is definitely going to help further my career within the printing industry."
