THE hard work of community groups in Redditch will be celebrated with a series of tea parties hosted by the Mayor.
The first ‘Communi-tea’ will see representatives from the Redditch Association for the Blind, chairman Bill Payne, secretary Mary Birkett and member Jackie Cornish, meeting Mayor cllr Juliet Brunner for tea in her parlour at the Town Hall on June 26.
Mayor Brunner said: “My Communi-tea parties will recognise the hard work of our volunteers in Redditch, without whom a lot of vital support and services for our more vulnerable residents would not exist.
“As well as saying thank you to them, it is a perfect opportunity for me to find out more about the work of these community groups which I can feed back into the chamber and raise awareness of their efforts.”
